Full house expected for Coppa Italia final

The remaining tickets for the Coppa Italia final between Juventus and Inter are starting to run out as record takings are achieved.

The upcoming cup final between the Bianconeri and the Nerazzurri kicks off at 19.45 UK time on Wednesday May 11 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. This is the third ever Coppa Italia final held between the two rivals – Juventus won both their previous final meetings, 4-1 in the 1958-59 season and 1-0 in the 1964-65 campaign.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, anticipation is building ahead of the Coppa Italia final and tickets are starting to sell out for a number of sectors of the Stadio Olimpico. The remaining tickets are expected to be sold soon and record takings have already been recorded.

The previous record earnings came from the Inter-Milan semi-final second leg on April 19, which beat out the 2016 record of €4,156,710. Many from the football world and a number of other celebrities are also set to attend the match, with everyone keeping their eyes glued to the Coppa Italia final.

Allegri’s Juventus future not tied to Coppa Italia final

Despite fans calling for his departure, Juventus have no plans to replace Massimiliano Allegri, regardless of how the Coppa Italia final goes.

It’s not been an easy season in Turin for the Italian coach, who returned last summer following Andrea Pirlo’s dismissal. He was forced to do without Cristiano Ronaldo once the season had started and star winger Federico Chiesa’s season was ended in January through injury, leaving him without top attacking threats for large parts of the campaign.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Juventus’ minimum goal for this season was Champions League qualification, something already achieved by Allegri’s side. The Coppa Italia is a nice bonus, but the club are planning to move ahead with the Italian coach regardless of the result.

The Bianconeri trust in Allegri’s ability to lead the team through transition and that’s why he’s contracted to the club for the next three years, giving him time to build a new project in Turin.

Probable line-ups: Fiorentina vs Roma

European hopefuls Fiorentina host Jose Mourinho’s Roma this evening in a match that could prove key in the Europa League race.

The match between the Viola and the Giallorossi kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.

Vincenzo Italiano only has to deal with one absence for this evening’s match as Gaetano Castrovilli is out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Things are equally as simple for Roma, with only Henrikh Mkhitaryan sidelined due to a thigh injury. Unfortunately for the Armenian, he’s also set to miss the upcoming Europa Conference League final against Feyenoord.

Considering Lazio beat Sampdoria this weekend, Roma cannot afford to drop points against Fiorentina in the race for 5th in the Serie A table.

Probable line-ups:

Fiorentina (4-3-3): Terracciano; Venuti, Milenkovic, Igor, Biraghi; Bonaventura, Torreira, Duncan; Nico Gonzalez, Cabral, Saponara.

Roma (3-4-2-1): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Kumbulla; Maitland-Niles, Cristante, Veretout, Vina; Afena-Gyan, Pellegrini; Abraham.
