Crystal Palace set Guehi asking price amid Liverpool interest – Paper Round

Palace want £65m for Guehi

Crystal Palace will start the bidding at £65m should Marc Guehi ask to leave once he has returned from England duty at Euro 2024, the Telegraph reports.

Guehi started for England in their opening win over Serbia, and with two years remaining on his current contract and fears he may not sign a new deal, Palace could be willing to listen to offers for the centre-back.

The Telegraph adds: “Guehi performed brilliantly in England’s opening Group C victory over Serbia and had already caught the attention of Liverpool before the tournament kicked off.

“Palace will be wary of allowing Guehi to enter the final12 months of his contract and the player has put his club future on hold while he is away at the Euros with England.

“Palace are facing a difficult summer, following their brilliant finish to last season under head coach Oliver Glasner, who Bayern Munich even enquired over.

“Chelsea, Bayern and Newcastle United last week contacted Palace over Michael Olise, while Guehi’s England team-mate Eberechi Eze has attracted strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur.”

Chelsea to sign ‘Little Messi’

Chelsea have moved closer to signing Estevao Willian from Palmeiras for a deal that could rise to £51m, the Standard reports. Willian has passed a medical, with the initial fee believed to be £29.5m.

The move would see Willian the latest in a string of South American players to join the club, and there are high hopes for the Brazilian 17-year-old winger.

The Standard writes: “Should the Chelsea deal hit its full range, that would make Estevao the most expensive South American teenage signing in history.

“Nicknamed ‘Little Messi’, Willian is one of the most highly regarded prospects in South America and Chelsea chiefs consider him as a potential future star.

“Chelsea’s new owners have targeted young South American talent from the outset of their Stamford Bridge tenure.

“Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, Angelo and Kendry Paez have all been recruited to underpin a youthful contingent designed at creating a new backbone for Chelsea’s future.”

Duran ‘excited’ by Chelsea transfer

Jhon Duran is said to be excited by the prospect of joining Chelsea from Aston Villa, the Standard reports.

Duran could be set for a move to the Blues for a fee in the region of £40m, and while happy at Villa it is reported Chelsea are confident of signing the 20-year-old striker.

The Standard writes: “Duran is understood to believe he would be a good fit at Chelsea, both under the club’s wider vision and the approach of new head coach Enzo Maresca.

“The former Chicago Fire frontman would relish a chance to work alongside Nicolas Jackson, as both team-mate and competitor.

“Duran scored eight goals in the 2023-24 season at Villa, having made a £14.75million move from the US in January 2023.

“Chelsea are considered unlikely to look at swap deals in any move for Duran, but Villa are interested in a number of Blues players this summer.”

Wolves to sign Chelsea target

Wolves are set to sign Pedro Lima from Brazilian side Sport Recife despite Chelsea also being interested in the full-back, the Daily Mail reports. Wolves have agreed an £8.5m deal and is set to sign a five-year contract once he turns 18 in July.

The Mail writes: “Chelsea wanted Lima for sister club Strasbourg, who became part of Todd Boehly’s BlueCo family last year.

“But the teenager – who represented Brazil at the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup – has opted to move to Molineux instead.

“Lima will be hoping to break into the first team at Wolves. He has been playing senior club football since January when he made his debut for Sport Recife.”
