World Snooker Championship 2024: Latest scores, results, schedule, order of play

Thirty-two of the best players in the world will battle it out for the sport’s most coveted trophy across 17 days of intense action from April 20 to May 6.

Luca Brecel will attempt to do what no first-time winner has done and defend the title he won in such thrilling fashion last year against Mark Selby.

The Belgian Bullet begins his campaign against David Gilbert in the traditional tournament-opening slot in what promises to be a cracking encounter.

Ronnie O’Sullivan will be aiming for a record-breaking eighth world crown and has been drawn against Jackson Page in the first round.

Elsewhere, Judd Trump takes on Hossein Vafaei in another fascinating round-one encounter, while Ding Junhui faces Jack Lisowski.

When is the World Snooker Championship and where?

The World Snooker Championship runs from Saturday, April 20 to Monday, May 6, 2024 and will be held at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

What is the format of the World Snooker Championship?

The 32-man field will be whittled down to one champion across 17 days of straight knockout action.

The top 16 seeds were drawn against the 16 players who came through qualifying for the opening round, which begins on April 20.

As is tradition, the defending champion will get the tournament underway, with Luca Brecel taking on David Gilbert at 10am.

First-round matches will be contested over 19 frames, while last-16 and quarter-final games will be best-of-25 encounters.

Semi-finalists will compete over 33 frames, with the final is a best-of-35 battle.
