The Ardennes Classics concludes with one of the most demanding races of the year: Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

The 259km one-day race (147.6km for the women’s race) features plenty of climbing and is headlined by a mouthwatering showdown between Tadej Pogacar and Mathieu van der Poel.

There’s also the prospect of Demi Vollering bidding for her third win after claiming victory in 2021 and 2023.

The 2024 edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege will take place on Sunday, April 21.

How to watch Liege-Bastogne-Liege

Coverage of the men’s race starts at 11.30am UK time, while the women’s race can be watched from 3.55pm.

Who is riding Liege-Bastogne-Liege?

The two favourites for the men’s race will be Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin–Deceuninck).

Pidcock will be bidding to get one over Van der Poel again, and will be joined on the start line by Tao Geoghegan Hart (Lidl-Trek) and Simon Yates (Jayco–AlUla).

Demi Vollering (SD Worx) will be aiming for a third victory at Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

Vollering beat Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) to the line a year ago.

Team-mate Lotte Kopecky and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (FDJ-Suez) could both challenge Vollering.

What is the route for Liege-Bastogne-Liege?

The men’s and women’s races will both follow similar routes to last year.

The men’s race starts and finishes in Liege, while the women’s race gets under way in Bastogne and finishes in Liege.

There will be climbs up the Col du Rosier, Cote de Desine and the Cote de la Redoute, the latter of which is where Evenepoel has made big moves over the last two years.

Both the men’s and women’s races will also tackle the Cote de la Roche-aux-Faucons, a steep climb that is followed by a descent into Liege, where there is a flat finish to the line.
