How to watch Stage 15 of the Giro d’Italia as GC stars move on after ITT

After the enthralling second individual time trial of this year’s edition of the Giro d’Italia on Saturday, it is now time for the GC contenders to re-focus on the overall race ahead of the next rest day on Monday.

For Sunday’s intriguing day of racing, the riders will have to negotiate the 222km route from Manerba del Garda to Livigno (Mottolino) with climbs on Colle San Zeno, Passo del Mortirolo, Isolaccia-Valdidentro and Passo di Foscagno.

Can Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) continue his seemingly inevitable surge towards an eventual victory at this opening Grand Tour of the 2024 season? This could be a key day ahead of a rest and reset on Monday.

It may be tough for Pogacar, who came second with a sensational individual time trial on Saturday, to lift himself once more for this monster stage, but if anyone can it will be him.

Ganna clinches ITT victory as Ineos star edges out Pogacar on Stage 14

By the finish that was a lead of 1’26. He stopped the clock in what appeared to be an unbeatable of 35’02.

As he headed to the hotseat he will have been optimistic that his time would hold up, but not 100% confident, considering the way Tadej Pogacar finished the stage 7 time trial. As riders set out and came home, it was increasingly looking like the rest were fighting for scraps, as none came even close to troubling the top of the leaderboard. A few in the higher reaches put in impressive performances but they were more like strong seconds at best. Magnus Sheffield would surely have been up there but for a bad crash on a ride hand bend, having been just five seconds down on Ganna at the first split.
