Super-agent Jorge Mendes will play a key role in Milan‘s transfers next summer, from the contract extension of Rafael Leao to the potential signings of Renato Sanches and Marco Asensio.

The Rossoneri may have a €300m budget for new signings if Investcorp completes the club’s takeover. Jorge Mendes has been in talks with the Serie A giants for a long time as Milan are willing to extend Rafael Leao’s contract as soon as possible.

Mendes will soon sit down with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara and the two parties will also discuss other clients on the agenda of the Portuguese agent.

Davide Ancelotti admits the hug with his father Carlo after Real Madrid vs. Manchester City moved them to tears as it was on the day of his mother’s birthday, who died last year.

Davide Ancelotti has been his father’s assistant for many years and was the first person Carletto hugged after the final whistle of the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals between Real Madrid and Manchester City on Wednesday night.

The Merengues had just completed one of the most memorable comebacks in the history of the game, scoring twice in the stoppages through Rodrygo and winning the game thanks to a Karim Benzema penalty in extra time. After the final whistle, Ancelotti and his son struggled to fight back the tears in an emotional hug.

“We were moved to tears at the end of the game because of a personal matter. It was a special day, my mother’s birthday, so it was a very touching end for both,” Davide said, as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ancelotti divorced his first wife and Davide’s mother Luisa Gibellini after 25 years of marriage in 2010. She died on May 24, 2021, after an illness. In 2014, Ancelotti married Mariann Barrena McClay in Canada.

Eto’o urges Cameroon to follow Mourinho’s Inter example to win World Cup

Samuel Eto’o believes Inter‘s Champions League triumph in 2009-10 should inspire Cameroon to win the World Cup in Qatar.

The ex-Nerazzurri striker is in Milan to present a friendly match that will take place at Milan’s Stadio Meazza on May 23. Many football legends will attend the event, including Leo Messi, Francesco Totti and Andrea Pirlo.

“I didn’t think I had the chance to play here again, but football is about surprises. I will be back here [San Siro] with many former teammates,” he told FCinternews.

“We usually meet somewhere else, not on the pitch. It will be a chance to speak the same language together.

“If a journalist wants to play, he can. Seriously. I think football belongs to everybody: journalists, players and staff members. Everyone must enjoy football.”

“They have a winning mentality and until the last moment, everything is possible. I hope they’ll win.”

The former striker mentioned Inter’s treble-winning campaign, saying that his national team could go against all odds and win the World Cup in Qatar by following their example.

“You don’t need to have aliens in your team to win the World Cup,” he claimed.

“You need good preparation, a strong mentality, and craziness. I won a few trophies in my career and I always offer Inter as an example. In 2009, nobody thought we could win [the Champions League] and José Mourinho did something incredible with a group of men and warriors. I’d like to see something similar in my Cameroon.”
