Gollini set for Serie A return after Tottenham loan

Pierluigi Gollini is expected to return to Serie A in the summer, with Lazio and Torino interested in securing his services.

The Italy international has only managed 10 appearances while on loan at Tottenham this season, failing to make his Premier League debut.

The 27-year-old moved to North London on loan from Atalanta last summer and Spurs would have made his transfer permanent after his 20th match for the club. It is now impossible for Gollini to reach as many appearances, so his return to Italy is on the cards.

However, Atalanta are unlikely to keep hold of him, considering that they signed Juan Musso less than a year ago and that the Argentina international has proved to be worth every penny invested in signing him.

Torino and Lazio have emerged as possible options for Gollini who has a contract until 2024 in Bergamo.

Lazio will see Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina leave the club, while Torino want a new man between the sticks in 2022-23 after the disappointing performances of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic this term. Etrit Berisha is expected to remain at the club as a second-choice goalkeeper. According to Tuttosport, Alessio Cragno and Alex Meret are also on the Granata’s agenda.
