During U2’s October 20 show at the Sphere, Bono snippeted Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” The singer weighed in on this surprise in an X (formerly Twitter) post.
U2’s tribute to Minogue
The snippet came during U2’s turntable acoustic set during the Sphere show. Bono was singing “All I Want Is You” and sampled Minogue’s signature song. During these Sphere shows, Bono has usually sung a snippet of Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side.” This show was also notable for the first performance of “When Love Comes to Town” since 2018.
Kylie Minogue weighed in on the show via her X account. “Where do I begin??? Thank you U2 for elevating us ALL with your music AND the out-of-this-world show at Sphere Las Vegas. Utterly amazing on every level and congrats to the entire team,” the post began. Plus … Yes, I lost it when you sang some of ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.’”

It appears that during these shows, U2 is tipped about who is at the show. At the next show, Ed Sheeran was in attendance. During “Desire,” Bono sampled his hit song “Shape of You.”
U2 is currently the inaugural act at the Sphere. The high-tech venue is being used to celebrate their 1991 album, Achtung Baby. They are playing the entire album in full for the very first time. Parts of the show harken back to their “ZooTV” tour from 1992-1993. Bram van den Berg is currently filling in for drummer Larry Mullen Jr. as he’s recovering from surgery.
