Serie A contenders Juventus clinched a 3-2 win at home to relegation fighters Frosinone, with a brace from Dusan Vlahovic and a late winner from Daniele Rugani. They remain second, now six points behind league leaders Inter Milan, who have two games in hand.
Their Serbian hotshot Duhan Vlahovic opened the scoring two minutes in, turning in Weston McKennie’s cross, but Frosinone were quick to equalise, with a crashing header from Walid Cheddira.
In an all-action first-half in Turin, the away team went in front with Marco Brescianini’s powerful finish, but Vlahovic was on hand to deftly level the match up minutes later.
Juventus pressed hard for a winner in the second half and sent balls galore into the box. It looked like their winless stretch in the league would run to five.
They hadn’t counted on defender Daniele Rugani being the hero. He slotted in from a corner at an acute angle through the Frosinone goalkeeper’s legs. Better late than never: the relief was palpable at the Allianz Stadium as Juventus ended their run of bad form in the most dramatic fashion.
