Roma ultras lay out rules for Conference League trip to Tirana

Roma ultras have sent out a message to their fellow supporters travelling to Tirana for the Europa Conference League Final against Feyenoord, urging them to be ‘worthy’ of the occasion.

The match will be played in the Capital of Albania on May 25 and both clubs have complained at the relative lack of tickets given to their supporters.

The Giallorossi are expected to be in the majority, having been able to snap up many of the tickets reserved for local supporters.

With that in mind, and past problems with Feyenoord supporters who famously caused thousands of Euros worth of damage to the Fontana della Barcaccia at the foot of the Spanish Steps, Roma ultras have sent out a set of rules.

It was handed out to supporters and stuck up on the walls of the stadium ahead of tonight’s Serie A match against Venezia.

“Giallorossi fans, our Roma is back in a European final after 31 years,” read the statement.

“We can guarantee you that those who’ll be there will do everything to represent those who, unfortunately, cannot make the trip. We have an appointment with history and we must be worthy of it.

“The visit to Tirana must be faced in the right way, both inside and outside the stadium, for obvious reasons.

“Here are a few simple rules that we invite you to follow:

“First, avoid walking around alone or in small groups.

“Second, do not bring ‘personal’ flags or standards. We will provide you with the material when you arrive.

“Third, the meeting point to travel to the stadium will be confirmed closer to the date.

“Fourth, show respect for the city that is hosting us.”

This is also a response to the statement on social media from Feyenoord fans urging all of them to travel to Tirana even without tickets, which is a recipe for disaster.
