UFC Contender Series Odds: Danny Barlow vs. Raheam Forest prediction, pick, how to watch – 9/26/2023

Contender Series Week 8: Danny Barlow vs. Raheam Forest continues on the fight card with the featured bout in the welterweight division between Danny Barlow and Raheam Forest. Barlow is an undefeated prospect who is coming into this fight winning all six of his professional fights meanwhile, Forest has won seven of his eight professional bouts and is coming off a 26-second knockout in his most recent victory as he comes into his first appearance on the Contender Series. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Barlow-Forest prediction and pick.

Danny Barlow (6-0) is an undefeated prospect who has won all six of his professional fights to start his career with four of those wins coming inside the distance. He also comes into this fight with a ton of momentum with back-to-back knockout victories as he gets to take on the dangerous Raheam Forest who’s taking the fight on short notice after his original opponent Justin Burlinson had withdrawn from the fight on this week’s episode of the Contender Series.

Raheam Forest (7-1) was the former Cage Fury Fighting Championship until he lost it to current UFC welterweight fighter Charles Radtke which was the first loss of his professional career. He was able to get back into the win column in a big way with a quick 26-second knockout. He will be stepping in on short notice and hopes to impress Dana White and the matchmakers when he takes on Danny Barlow this Tuesday night on the Contender Series.

Why Danny Barlow Will Win

Danny Barlow comes into this fight as an undefeated welterweight prospect who fights out of Tennessee just like his opposition. He was getting ready to face off against Justin Burlinson who had to withdraw from the fight due to visa issues and will now be taking on short notice fighter Raheam Forest. Barlow has won four of his six fights by knockout as he will be looking to land his devastating left hand that has put down the majority of his opponents.

Forest is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championship welterweight champion and has a fan-friendly fighting style that will bring pressure to Barlow. Most of the time Barlow will have to find his opponents but not in this case as Forest will be there to counter as he pushes forward. If Barlow can keep his distance and not let Forest dictate the pace of the fight he can crack his chin like he has done many others and get his UFC contract.

Why Raheam Forest Will Win

Raheam Forest was looking like he was on the fast track to the UFC when he secured the Cage Fury Fighting Championship welterweight title when he defeated Collin Lubberts only to lose in his first title defense against now UFC welterweight Charles Radtke. While he did lose that fight, he did hurt and rock Radtke early until he went for an ill-advised takedown and got reversed in an odd scramble on the mat. He was able to make quick work of his next opponent to get back into the win column and be on the shortlist for a shot on the Contender Series after Justin Burlinson had to withdraw from the fight.

Forest has shown that he can mix it up very well on the feet and certainly on the mat. He’s got the power to really hurt Barlow on the feet but has the wrestling and grappling to control him on the mat and beat him up there. Barlow however is a very powerful striker with a piston of a left hand but if Forest can navigate through the height and reach of Barlow he can get on the inside land some heavy strikes and use his takedowns to eventually get him out of there.

Final Danny Barlow-Raheam Forest Prediction & Pick

This should be a fun fight and is great matchmaking for the featured bout on this week’s episode of the Contender Series. Barlow is tall and long for the welterweight division standing at 6’2″ and an 80″ reach which will give him 3″ of height and more than that in reach. He does a good job at keeping his opponents at bay with his jab and straight left hand but he is low volume which could be the problem against Forest who can push a pace. Forest will need to utilize his speed, movement, and volume to get on the inside of the reach of Barlow to land his strikes and takedowns. Ultimately, Barlow will be touching up Forest from the outside until Forest can get through that reach where he will land heavy hooks and utilize his wrestling to get this fight to the mat but Barlow will eventually reverse the position and get back to his feet only to punish Forest shortly thereafter with his patented left hand and a UFC contract.

Final Danny Barlow-Raheam Forest Prediction & Pick: Danny Barlow (-105)

UFC Contender Series Odds: Alexander Soldatkin vs. Mario Piazzon prediction, pick, how to watch – 9/26/2023

Contender Series Week 8: Danny Barlow vs. Raheam Forest continues on the fight card with a bout in the heavyweight division between Alexander Soldatkin and Mario Piazzon. Soldatkin is coming into this fight on an 11-fight win streak with 10 of those wins coming inside the distance as he comes into this fight meanwhile, Piazzon is an undefeated Brazilian heavyweight prospect who is coming off a knockout victory as he comes into his first appearance on the Contender Series. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Soldatkin-Piazzon prediction and pick.

Alexander Soldatkin (14-3) is one of the more experienced fighters on this season of the Contender Series and in a weight class that Dana White says they always need prospects for. He has fought the majority of the time on the European regional scene with 12 of his 14 victories coming inside the distance as he looks to make a big splash on this week’s episode of the Contender Series against Mario Piazzon.

Mario Piazzon (6-0) is an undefeated Brazilian heavyweight prospect who has won all of his professional fights by knockout. His toughness will certainly be put to the test when he takes on the Russian heavyweight prospect Alexander Soldatkin on this week’s episode of the Contender Series.

Here are the UFC Odds, courtesy of DraftKings.

Contender Series Week 8 Odds: Alexander Soldatkin-Mario Piazzon Odds

Alexander Soldatkin: -380

Mario Piazzon: +300

Over 1.5 rounds: +180

Under 1.5 rounds: -238

How to Watch Alexander Soldatkin vs. Mario Piazzon

TV: ESPN+

Stream: ESPN+

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET/ 5:00 p.m. PT

Why Alexander Soldatkin Will Win

Alexander Soldatkin is set to face Mario Piazzon on this week’s episode of the Contender Series. Soldatkin has a professional record of 14-3, which is more than double the amount of professional experience than Piazzon who just has six professional fights under his belt. Soldatkin has also fought in larger promotions such as Ares FC fighting a much higher level of competition than Piazzon has on the Brazilian regional scene.

Against that higher level of competition, Soldatkin has finished 12 of those 17 opponents showing that he can not only beat solid competition but also finish them. Piazzon has won five of his six fights by knockout and is going to want to stand and bang it out in the center of the octagon. That is going play right into what Soldatkin wants to do and if he’s able to just land on Piazzon he could potentially get him out of there.

Why Mario Piazzon Will Win

Mario Piazzon is a bit of a wild card as he has an unblemished record of 6-0 but he has beaten extremely low-level competition in Brazil for a low-level MMA promotion Demo Fight. This fight organization is known for record padding where you will multiple undefeated fighters taking on sub-500 fighters or fighters with losing records.

Piazzon has shown that he can crack and has the power in his hands to end the fight at any moment which will have to come into play against another heavy-handed striker like Alexander Soldatkin. Soldatkin is going to want to keep this fight standing at range which will give Piazzon ample opportunities to land the kill shot and score the big upset and a UFC contract.

Final Alexander Soldatkin-Mario Piazzon Prediction & Pick

This fight has the potential to be a barnburner for however long it lasts between these two heavy-hitting heavyweights. Alexander Soldatkin looks like a heavyweight prospect that the UFC can get behind. He has the build and the power to be a decent addition to the UFC’s heavyweight division. Meanwhile, Piazzon looks undersized standing at only 6 feet tall, and will have a ton of trouble with the size of Soldatkin in this fight.

Piazzon also hasn’t had to face much adversity against a ton of inferior opponents whereas Soldatkin already has a few losses on his record and has come back stronger each and every time he lost. This could be a fight where experience could play a huge factor in this fight. Piazzon could seemingly have a ton of trouble against someone who could combat with the forward pressure style of fighting that he will bring to the table in this fight. Ultimately, Piazzon is going to look to come forward and be the aggressor looking to land some heavy hooks on Soldatkin but Soldatkin will be the one landing the devastating shots as the shorter Piazzon attempts to get in range where he will then eventually land something flush having Piazzon crashing to the canvas for the knockout and the UFC contract.

Final Alexander Soldatkin-Mario Piazzon Prediction & Pick: Alexander Soldatkin (-380)

UFC Contender Series Odds: Angel Pacheco vs. Danny Silva prediction, pick, how to watch – 9/26/2023

Contender Series Week 8: Danny Barlow vs. Raheam Forest continues on the fight card with a bout in the featherweight division between Angel Pacheco and Danny Silva. Pacheco is coming into this fight on a four-fight winning streak with over a year of layoff as he comes into this fight meanwhile, Silva is coming off a first-round knockout as he comes into his first appearance on the Contender Series. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Pacheco-Silva prediction and pick.

Angel Pacheco (7-1) is a very well-balanced fighter who has won seven of his eight bouts with all seven of those wins coming inside the distance. His ability to mix things up on the feet and on the mat is what is going to make him very dangerous in this matchup on the Contender Series against a heavy hitter like Danny Silva.

Danny Silva (7-1) has some heavy hands with five of his seven wins coming by knockout with his most recent victory being a a quick first-round knockout as he comes into the biggest fight of his career. He will be looking to add another highlight reel knockout on his resume when he steps into the octagon on this week’s episode of the Contender Series.

Here are the UFC Odds, courtesy of DraftKings.

Contender Series Week 8 Odds: Angel Pacheco-Danny Silva Odds

Angel Pacheco: +180

Danny Silva: -218

How to Watch Angel Pacheco vs. Danny Silva

TV: ESPN+

Stream: ESPN+

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET/ 5:00 p.m. PT

Why Angel Pacheco Will Win

Angel Pacheco is a game opponent who is skilled everywhere and he has won seven of his eight professional fights. He is coming off a very good win against Vilson Ndregjoni who he submitted in round two after fighting through some early adversity. He is comfortable fighting in space, using his movement and his jab to keep his opponent at his range and counter as they try to come forward.

His opponent Danny Silva is going to give him the stand-up striking affair that he wants and lucky for him that Silva isn’t very defensively sound as he is the aggressor in the fight. Pacheco will need to do his best to keep his back off the cage by utilizing his side-to-side movement and counter as Silva marches forward until he cracks his chin and potentially puts him away.

Why Danny Silva Will Win

Danny Silva is your prototypical pressure fighter much like his main training partners Cub Swanson and Dan Argueta. They are all going to come forward, and throw some heavy heat, but not utilize a ton of head movement when they do so. They utilize that pressure to eventually break their opponents down and much like Swanson and Argueta, Silva has exceptional cardio to get along with his pressure style of fighting.

Pacheco seems game enough to go out there and slug it out with Danny Silva. The thing is Pacheco was dropped badly in the first round of his last fight but he was able to weather the early storm and got the finish. For Silva, it looks like he can take a punch, and when he does he is throwing immediately after. If Silva can avoid being a punching bag as he attempts to march forward he can wear down Pacheco eventually knocking him out midway through the fight.

Final Angel Pacheco-Danny Silva Prediction & Pick

This is my pick for the fight of the night when these two featherweights get locked in the octagon together. Angel Pacheco has some very good fundamentals to go along with good movement on the feet. He is a crisp jab that will come in handy as Danny Silva attempts to just march forward. Utilizing his reach advantage and that jab will help keep Silva from getting in his preferred range and turning the fight into a brawl.

Silva is certainly going to put on a show for the fight fans on this Tuesday’s episode of the Contender Series when he takes on Angel Pacheco. He’s going to march Pacheco down and throw a ton of volume until he breaks his opponent much like he will do here against Pacheco. Ultimately, Pacheco will attempt to keep this fight at his preferred distance where he can pump out his jab and calf kicks to counter Silva as he comes forward but once Silva starts letting his hands go and connects on Pacheco he will crack his chin and rock him hard eventually finishing him inside two rounds and getting his UFC contract.

Final Angel Pacheco-Danny Silva Prediction & Pick: Danny Silva (-218)

UFC Contender Series Odds: Carli Judice vs. Ernesta Kareckaite prediction, pick, how to watch – 9/26/2023

Contender Series Week 8: Danny Barlow vs. Raheam Forest continues on the fight card with a bout in the women’s flyweight division between Carli Judice and Ernesta Kareckaite. Judice is an undefeated prospect who’s taking this fight on short notice as she comes into this fight meanwhile, Kareckaite is also an undefeated prospect winning four of her five bouts as she comes into her first appearance on the Contender Series. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Judice-Kareckaite prediction and pick.

Carli Judice (3-0) is an undefeated women’s flyweight prospect who has made quick work in all three of her professional fights which all ended by first-round knockout. She has fought three times in the last 11 months and this fight on this week’s episode of the Contender Series will make it four fights in the first 11 months of her professional career when she takes on Lithuania flyweight prospect Ernesta Kareckaite.

Ernesta Kareckaite (4-0-1) is also an undefeated flyweight prospect who is fighting out of Lithuania and if she were to get signed by the UFC she will only be the third fighter in the UFC to be from Lithuania. She has a plethora of combat sports experience as she has fought professionally in boxing and kickboxing as well as MMA and she hopes that experience will help her in the biggest fight of her career on this week’s episode of the Contender Series.

Here are the UFC Odds, courtesy of DraftKings.

Contender Series Week 8 Odds: Carli Judice-Ernesta Kareckaite Odds

Carli Judice: -162

Ernesta Kareckaite: +136

How to Watch Carli Judice vs. Ernesta Kareckaite

TV: ESPN+

Stream: ESPN+

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET/ 5:00 p.m. PT

Why Carli Judice Will Win

Carli Judice is set to face Ernesta Kareckaite on this week’s episode of the Contender Series. Judice is known for her striking ability, with all three of her wins coming by first-round knockout. Kareckaite, on the other hand, has only won 2 fights by knockout which were over four years ago. Judice will be taking this fight on short notice but it might be an advantage knowing that her opponent Kareckaite was getting ready to face a pressure grappler in Sora Rakhmonova but now will have to face a pressure striker.

Judice has shown in her three professional MMA fights that she loves to come forward, pressure her opponent, and land some heavy hands. She also throws a good amount of volume which could eventually wear down Kareckaite to a potential finish which would give her four knockouts in just 11 months into her professional MMA career.

Why Ernesta Kareckaite Will Win

Ernesta Kareckaite has yet to be defeated in her professional MMA career winning four of her five fights with one fight ending in a draw. Of those four wins two of them have come by knockout. Kareckaite has also competed in boxing and kickboxing as well as MMA during her time as a combat sports specialist which certainly will help her in this fight against another striker in Carli Judice.

Judice is going to come out there looking to come forward and throw caution to the wind to land some devastating shots. That is something Kareckaite can take advantage of as she will be the more technical fighter out of the two and also Kareckaite is the more experienced fighter which gives her a leg up in this matchup. If Kareckaite can make this a clean fight and get Judice out of the first round she can wear her down as the fight goes on and get a potential decision victory.

Final Carli Judice-Ernesta Kareckaite Prediction & Pick

These two flyweight fighters are going to go to scrap in this Contender Series matchup. Judice isn’t the most experienced fighter but she is a fun fighter and is always looking to hurt her opponents as she comes forward and puts a pace on her opponents. She has yet to see a round two in the short time in her professional career and this will be her first time fighting on short notice as well, so if we see a round two things could get a bit dicey.

As for Kareckaite, she has seemed a bit underwhelming even with the experience that she has in multiple facets of combat sports. She is super low volume and in each of the last two of her MMA fights she could have easily lost as they both were close split decisions. Ultimately, as long as Judice doesn’t death gas in the first round if she doesn’t get the finish, she should be able to just outwork and outstrike Kareckaite for the vast majority of this fight to get the win.

Final Carli Judice-Ernesta Kareckaite Prediction & Pick: Carli Judice (-162)

UFC Contender Series Odds: Vinicius de Oliveira vs. Victor Madrigal prediction, pick, how to watch – 9/26/2023

Contender Series Week 8: Danny Barlow vs. Raheam Forest kicks off the fight card with a bout in the bantamweight division between Vinicius de Oliveira and Victor Madrigal. De Oliveira is a Brazilian bantamweight prospect who has won seven out of his last eight fights as he comes into this fight meanwhile, Madrigal has won three straight with wins in five out of his last six fights coming into his debut on the Contender Series. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our de Oliveira-Madrigal prediction and pick.

Vinicius de Oliveira (18-3) is one of the top bantamweight prospects fighting out Brazil with 16 of his 18 wins coming by finish. He was the former UAE Warriors bantamweight champion until he lost the title to undefeated prospect Ali Taleb. He was able to get back into the win column in his next fight is coming into this matchup on the Contender Series against Victor Madrigal with a first-round knockout as he looks to impress Dana White and the UFC matchmakers this Tuesday night.

Victor Madrigal (12-3) is the top bantamweight prospect out of Mexico and he was the former Budo Sento Championship bantamweight champ where he most recently defended his title against former UFC bantamweight Jose Quinonez. He’s fought the who’s who on the Mexican regional circuit and is prime to make his name known when he takes on Brazilian standout Vinicius de Oliveira this Tuesday night on the Contender Series.

Here are the UFC Odds, courtesy of DraftKings.

Contender Series Week 8 Odds: Vinicius de Oliveira-Victor Madrigal Odds

Vinicius de Oliveira: -298

Victor Madrigal: +240

How to Watch Vinicius de Oliveira vs. Victor Madrigal

TV: ESPN+

Stream: ESPN+

Time: 8:00 p.m. ET/ 5:00 p.m. PT

Why Vinicius de Oliveira Will Win

Vinicius de Oliveira is set to face Victor Madrigal on this week’s episode of the Contender Series. De Oliveira has a professional record of 18-3, which is significantly more experience than Madrigal’s record of 12-3. . De Oliveira has also fought in larger promotions such as UAE Warriors.

De Oliveira is known for his striking ability, with 14 of his 18 wins coming by knockout. Madrigal, on the other hand, has seven wins by knockout but has the ability to mix things up on the mat more so than de Oliveira. If de Oliveira can keep the fight standing, he will likely have the advantage. Also, de Oliveira has two inches in height and reach on Madrigal which will make it hard for him to close the distance without getting countered. With how aggressive and dangerous de Oliveira is on the feet, as long as he can keep it there we could see another highlight reel knockout and a potential UFC contract.

Why Victor Madrigal Will Win

Victor Madrigal is the underdog in his upcoming fight against Vinicius de Oliveira but he has shown throughout his career that he is as tough as they come and certainly can overcome being a big underdog in this spot against Vinicius de Oliveira. While Madrigal has that Mexican toughness about his game and has seven knockouts on his record it would be best for him to mix in the takedowns with his striking to get the biggest win of his career on Tuesday night.

Madrigal is the better grappler between the two and will need to implement his grappling in this fight against the dangerous striker, Vinicius de Oliveira. De Oliveira is going to want to be the aggressor and push the pace on Madrigal which will open up the takedowns for Madrigal. If Madrigal is able to get de Oliveira out of his game and make him work in the grappling and on the feet he can score the upset and a UFC contract.

Final Vinicius de Oliveira-Victor Madrigal Prediction & Pick

This is going to be a great scrap to start this week’s episode of the Contender Series with these two bantamweight fighters. Vinicius de Oliveira has looked the part on the regional scene absolutely wreaking havoc on his opposition finishing 14 of those 18 wins by knockout and another one could be coming this week when he takes on Victor Madrigal.

Madrigal is one of the top bantamweights fighting out of Mexico and he fights just like most Mexican fighters with durability and willingness to go toe to toe with anyone that stands in front of him. He also has some good wins over current and former UFC bantamweight fighters which should help with as he comes into this matchup. Ultimately, these two are going to come out of the gate hot and trading shots but it will be Madrigal who will attempt to take this fight to the mat and when he’s not able to get it there de Oliveira will make him pay eventually knocking him out midway through the fight.

Final Vinicius de Oliveira-Victor Madrigal Prediction & Pick: Vinicius de Oliveira (-298)

Israel Adesanya breaks silence after pleading guilty to drunk driving

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya decided to plead guilty to drunk driving on Monday in New Zealand over a month since he was caught behind the wheel with an alcohol limit that’s above the legal threshold.

Adesanya has also released a statement via ESPN, admitting his mistake and apologizing for his actions.

“I want to apologize to the community, my family and my team for the decision I made to get behind the wheel after drinking at a dinner,” Israel Adesanya said (h/t Marc Raimondi of ESPN). “I am disappointed with my decision to drive, it was wrong. I know that people might follow me and I want them to know I do not think this behavior is acceptable.”

The said incident occurred in Auckland on Aug. 19 when Adesanya was on his way home after having dinner with friends. He was pulled over by a Random Breath Testing unit which then discovered that his system had 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. The legal limit in New Zealand is only 50 milligrams.

With Adesanya coming forward with a guilty admission, he could be facing up to three months of imprisonment or a fine of $4,500, according to the New Zealand Herald.

This latest legal trouble by Israel Adesanya comes on the heels of his loss to Sean Strickland in a UFC middleweight title fight earlier this September. Adesanya won the interim middleweight title in the UFC in 2019 by beating Kelvin Gastelum then became the unified champion of the division months later by taking down Robert Whittaker.

So far in his pro career in the MMA arena, Adesanya has a 24-3-0 record with a 16-1 T/KO slate.
